Rep. Jason Altmire, D-Pennsylvania, has introduced the Freedom from Automated Political Calls Act (H.R. 372), legislation that would "direct the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to revise the regulations regarding the Do-not-call registry to prohibit politically-oriented recorded message telephone calls to telephone numbers listed on that registry."
The bill, introduced on Jan. 10, was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
